Invitation to try out for Senior Mid-Week Teams Challenge

Each year Nudgee Golf Club competes in Golf Australia’s Senior Mid-Week Teams Challenge.

This is a match play event involving teams of 8 players – 4 playing singles matches off the stick and 4 playing in 2 fourball teams using handicaps. Generally the singles matches are played by lower markers and the fourball matches by higher markers.

Teams will be made up of eight (8) players 55 years of age, or older on the day of competition, who hold an GA handicap. Additionally, a minimum of two members must be over 60 years of age.

It is played as a round robin event with home and away matches during the season, with the top teams from each group going through to a finals stage.

The timing of the event has been affected by the floods, with the expected season starting week to be 9-13th May and expected season finishing week to be 18-22nd July.

Finals are expected to commence following the Queensland Senior Amateur Championship and finish mid-August.

This year NGC will be entering 2 teams into the competition (i.e. 16 to 24 players).

We have not yet determined which days the teams will play on at Nudgee, but please be aware that each Club gets to select the day they will play, so you need to be able to be flexible with your availability mid-week.

We are therefore seeking expressions of interest from eligible players who are able to commit for the length of the season.

To be eligible for selection you must be 55 years of age or older and have a GA handicap 18 or lower.

If you are interested, please respond to this email address before 5pm on Wednesday 13 April so we have time to organise trials if required.

If you have any questions, please also email this address Volunteer@nudgeegolf.com.au or speak to David Young or Peter Raverty.

Earlier this year I sent a Club wide email outlining our Club’s Pennant approach and process. Please have a read of those details on our website using the following links:
